Article- How FS1 & Providence Have Grown

Like him or not, Cooley has the program going very positively. Even after losing Bentil & Dunn & without any super star recruits he has this team competing. He seems to have a good eye for getting under recruited kids like Henton, Bentil, Bullock, etc. Having a consistently good, competitive team is a fitting goal for SJU IMO. PC seems to be there.

Cooley has done an excellent job at PC
Good recruiter and a good coach
They have a rabid fan base - the Dunkin Donuts Arena is a great college venue
PC was his "dream" job - he should be there a long time

Nothing not to like about Providence College...... Solid academics, committed rowdy fans, and an Administration that understands the benefits which a winning men's basketball team brings to the school.

Likewise, nothing not to like about Coach Cooley ..... Hometown kid who grew up in the City of Providence, wanted to attend Providence College but was unable to do so, has returned home and has reconstructed a blue collar gritty program that competes a a very high level.

Btw, the three star PG they put in charge this year is doing very well;

"Providence's Kyron Cartwright against URI: 19 points, eight assists, one turnover in 39 minutes. Answering the bell for the Friars."

He may have been rated 3 stars but those stats are of a 5 star recruit.
