Are We Finally Selling Tickets?

For years now one of the main issues of our program has been selling tickets. But as I look around for tickets to the Butler game tomorrow, The Living Social deal is already sold out, the cheapest ticket on Vivid Seats is $50, StubHub's cheapest ticket is $55 (mind you those prices are for a $25 face value ticket), and the Ticketmaster link through RedstormSports seems to only have a few single seats available. (cheapest $42). In years past, it was relatively easy to get a reasonably priced ticket to the game. So the question I ask is, does this mean we're finally selling well? If so, that's certainly a good thing.

Saturday afternoon, still on Christmas break, Big East matchup, we're ranked 15th = ticket sales.

Just as a reminder, if you are talking about the face value on a season's ticket, that's not really accurate. If you cherry pick only the best games, and discard the games that aren't worth whatever the price of admission is, a big east contest at Carnesecca is very fairly priced at $50. I'm not sure once you get past seat location that a season's ticket is a great value in a season where our team is not going to make the tourney, but so far this year it's been enjoyable. But I don't think you can expect to pay the bundled printed price on a season ticket for any individual game of interest to you, no less a competitive big east game, which is what Butler should be.

I was just referring to single game tickets, which RedstormSports lists the cheapest as $25 so thats what I was going off of.

I was just talking to my dad about ticket prices. They have certainly gone up for Nova, Gtown and Duke. the cheapest on stubhub is around 70. Those games also look sold out on Ticketmaster. You can still get face value tickets on ticketmaster for the lower draw teams like providence and creighton.

It is amazing to me that $50 for a game at an on-campus gymnasium can be considered “very fairly priced”
I have attended on-campus games at Wagner, Hofstra and Manhattan this year. Tickets have been in the $8 to $15 range. Except for the high profile slickster coach, these programs are no different than SJU. Today, I paid $15 at the Fordham game to watch a game in a prestigious conference (A-10) against a perennial NCAA tournament contender (VCU).
I can remember being in attendance the last time Syracuse ever played in Alumni Hall. A classic overtime game, the Pearl and Chris head to head in a thriller circa 1982. To paraphrase Coach Boeheim in his post game media remarks… “Anybody who paid their $4, got their money’s worth”

Now that Jordan is gone and this team is going nowhere fast, anyone who can sell tickets should do so to redeem some value on the wasted season ticket price. I thought 2015 was going to be a great run for st johns but the party is over, they can put the balls away. Going to games now will be just to have some beers and probably a quick exit to catch the LIRR

The teams you mentioned, D1 or not, all are grade B programs. I checked Kansas' website, and a general admission ticket vs. Oklahoma is $90 - IN LAWRENCE KS. For Texas tech, they are $75 for GA.

Syracuse Carrier dome tickets for Wake Forest start at $20 in the Carrier dome (nosebleeds) and go to $320 on TICKETMASTER.

Granted these are two great programs, but also in Podunk towns. $50 for a Big East game is a fair price, or at least market prices for a major conference. It looks like cheaper seats sold out. Vs. DePaul there are $30 and $50 seats for sale
