April Live Period

So today marks the first of 2 Evaluation weekends in April. Normally they would be back to back but with Easter next weekend they skip next weekend and have the second one for April the following weekend:

April 8-10 and April 22-24. I believe we should have coaches on the road. Several events going on specifically the NIKE EYBL circuit.

Also with all of these transfers looking to take visits this same weekend it makes for odd situations. Some staff members on the road, some staying home for visits.

Here is a list of some of the key events. Nike EYBL is in Orlando this weekend.

I know because of the pandemic 2020 April and July Live Periods were cancelled I believe the April 2021 was also cancelled and then coaches were allowed back on the road starting in July 2021. So this is the first April Live period since 2019.

Hopefully staff will have someone there today.

Gardner cut his list to ten: Florida, Alabama, Memphis, Georgetown, St. John’s, Auburn, LSU, Kansas, Georgia Tech and Overtime Elite.

Nate Oats and Matt McMahon were both on the baseline to watch him play.

Just curious as to why anyone would think that our staff would not be at these events.
I think the previous two staffs' absence from some key offseason events is probably where this comes from. Unfair because CMA and staff have never given any indication that they are anything but highly committed to a long-term recruiting strategy. Questioning their effort is, in my opinion, is not a valid concern.

If you are directing it at me not sure where I said I thought rhey weren't going to be there.

I get that you like to defend the staff under almost any circumstance but sometimes you and others are absolutely paranoid about any post that is not explicitly pro-Anderson.

I did find it odd that they were not mentioned at Gardner's game Friday night of course that does not mean they weren't there. Although privately someone who was there told me they did not see staff at his game Friday night although he allows for the fact he may have missed them. But I was pretty certain barring a major transfer on campus this weekend they would have staff in both Orlando and Indy. That's it.

There was nothing to defend regarding Coach Anderson and the staff. They put in the time and effort. Hopefully the results this recruiting season will be rewarding.

Sometimes when there are reports of CMA and staff out doing their jobs recruiting it becomes difficult for the know-it-alls to spew their venom on the staff and the program, but they try their best to offer nothing that is constructive.

That’s a bit harsh and if directed at Fordham, unwarranted. I don’t think anyone has questioned the staff’s work ethic at all which has certainly been miles ahead of the Mullin regime. However, a legitimate concern has been the staffs ability to sign “quality” recruits not in attending these showcases. As Panther has stated above, hopefully the staffs efforts are rewarded with a fine recruited class.
