It's an embarassment the NCAA hasn't punished UNC yet. The fact that nothing has happened and now they go into the season ranked #1 in the country makes it even more definite (if it wasnt before) that the terrified NCAA wont do anything before the season's conclusion to them.

That was my first thought too regarding UNC topping the poll. Funny that we never play Vandebilt until they have a great team and we are in the ultimate rebuild year on top of maybe the only time in history that we are the main competitors for a recruit. On the plus side our team should travel really well. There is something to be said for that going all the way to Hawaii.

Cal has the potential to be a monster team. Dec game @ Virginia will be one to watch.

The schedule could be a lot worse. If we beat Vanderbilt then the rest of the Maui is house money. If we lose we probably won't face another ranked team until Big East play.

If they get any sort of decent play from their incoming transfer PG, my sleeper on here is Purdue. They have a front line that will be a match up nightmare, with the ability to go with 2 seven footers with offensive skill, plus a 5 star incoming 6'8" one and done player Caleb Swanigan.

Fwiw SI chimes in;

@nybuckets: SI has Iona at 91, Stony Brook at 94, Princeton 105, Columbia 108 and Hofstra 116. St. John's is 130th.
