Another record for blocked shots

Louisville's center broke a record for blocked shots against us. Didn't we break another such record this year? I believe it was against Kentucky? These are broken records that we can all do without. I guess when you lack quality bigs this can happen. Recruit Steve recruit.

Whaen you keep driving against a zone with a shot blocker and you can't shoot from the perimeter that's what happens. We've been so concerned about accumulating athletes we only have one guy (D - Lo) who can put it in from distance. Last year Hardy changed that and Paris, DJ weren't that bad either. That opened it up inside as well. Last night we looked like a Norm Roberts team. We've been getting killed by guys like Kouric and worse all year. Not top 100 guys - just shooters. That's the one thing Lavin forgot to add to the mix. Our ratio of threes made to allowed must be one of the worst in the nation. Hey Steve and Mike there's this thing called the arc and it's designed to give undermanned teams a chance by opening up the game. I'm so tired of seeing SJU humiliated by guys we wouldn't even look at recruiting-wise it makes me sick. Can this staff really be that stupid?

There is nothing the matter with driving against a zone, even with a shot blocker. However, there is something wrong with driving to the basket against anyone and leading with the ball, which is what most of our players do. Lead with the body, create contact, release the ball; basketball 101.

Agreed Logen, another thing I noticed is that when one of our guys receives a pass to them in the post they go right up with the ball. They never throw a shot fake to get the defensive player in the air and then lean in going up with the shot to draw contact. I think other teams bigs see this on film and there's no guessing involved. As soon as our guys get the ball in the post the other teams bigs know we're going right up with it. If they would throw some shot fakes at them, get them in the air and draw some fouls the defensive players wouldn't be able to always anticipate our shots.

Shot fakes won't make a difference right now because they know we're not going to shoot from deep because we can't. We could give Moe the green light as he appears to be our second best deep shooter but then who gets the boards?

So the shot fake that gave Harrison the 3 point play under the basket against Loiusville shouldn't have worked because the guy going for the fake should've known that we can't shoot 3's? It is a blessing that in this world of uncertainty some things never change.

Right on the money, DLo's been using the up fake with some effectiveness over the last few games, the 'ville players bit on it a few times.
