Xavier Blog - An Open letter to St. John's HC Chris Mullin

The link below takes you to an open letter from an Xavier blogger which is sarcastic in nature, focusing on the fact that Mullin hasn't coached at any level and the slippery slope of handing out scholarships to kids who are still H.S. freshman and sophomore’s.

Here's a zinger which is funny and true, "You've inherited a team that lost five of its top six scorers, five of its top six rebounders, everyone who made at least 10 threes, everyone who averaged more than half an assist per game, and all but one of the players who averaged more than ten minutes per game. On the bright side, you do return a shot-blocking center who made nearly 55% of his layup/dunk attempts last season"

From my point of view, Coach appears to have a clear plan for building a program, but until he establishes success, year after year, similar thoughts will linger.

I did not read the blog and won't.
But someone from Xavier actually has such abiding interest in our new wonderful coach?
Wow as some would say "get a life"...

If a couple more bloggers write similar essays giving Chris Mullin value insights on how basketball works I'll start to feel good about our prospects moving forward.

That's actually quite a stinging an indictment of Lavin, isn't it?

As for Mullin- the fact that he's warranting this attention is fantastic. The entire league is desperate for SJU to be a powerhouse again.

All it is is an Xavier fan trying to drum up something against us. Sure it was poorly executed but welcome. Let's get excited to spar with league members.

I guess it's an uneventful off-season for Xavier, gotta think this guy has a better way to spend his time...maybe not. I take the blog post as a compliment.

And we will be again
Powerhouse that is
Who knows exactly when
But we will be!
Thanks

The author is so knowledgeable ,that he didn't even know Mullin was a SJU legend. He heard he was. It's a good thing the author wrote this, That way Mullin can read it and get advise from someone who has more exp. than him in coaching. LOL

Why are we even discussing comments by Numb Nut from Cincinnati?
