One of the finest multi sports athletes ever to play at St. John's, if not the best. Tony Chiles recruited some of the best athletes ever. Too bad after the first recruiting year some did not make it or stick it out. Harkless, Pelle and especially Nurideen Lindsay.

"In 2008 the 6-3 Lindsay played at Philadelphia's Overbrook High and committed to LaSalle, where current Storm assistant Tony Chiles was on staff at the time. That year he averaged 35.8 points in league play, the sixth highest ever with Chamberlain holding two of the top five spots. Chamberlain also attended Overbrook."

Oh and plus he threw a 90 mph basketball at the Georgetown player :)

Amir Garrett MLB season to date:
He's coming out of the bullpen.
He's pitched in 29 games (out of 60 or so); 35.2 innings pitched.
2.27 ERA
41 strikeouts to 11 walks.
1.01 WHIP
He's a lefty, throwing 95 to 98 mph.

The Reds have him for three more arbitration seasons. He'll get a nice pay day next year;
However, his first free big contract will come after his age 31 season. He'll get really paid then.

Maybe the Reds will sign him to a longer term deal before then.
Congrats to him.
It's really nice to see him get rewarded.

Good catch. Ah, I am idiot. My eyes deceived me. He's 26 now. He has two more locked in years for salary (If i'm reading Spotrac correctly), then he has three salary-arbitration years ending at age 31. See the screen below, if I can paste it in correctly.

The Reds really need to give him another shot starting. I know that was his goal coming into the season but they didn't have a spot in the rotation for him. With the Reds being one of the worst in the league, they deserve to give him another shot.
