AMAR / N.Y. Daily News

I see a lot of potential in this kid. He can be a really solid player for us who supports the 4/5 star players we get. ;)

Keep putting in the work Amar! Your time will come

The kid has a beautiful outside jumper. You really cant teach form or size and that level, and he's got both. He has all the opportunity to be an impact player for SJU over the next several seasons.

Hopefully he can continue to get acclimated to the USA, the Big East style of play, and the school..

For this season, I am not interested in his outside shot. The equation for Amar this year is : Rebounds = Playing time

All I care about is someone, anyone emerging to put in quality minutes on the front line. As long as our interior defense doesn't turn to swiss cheese when Obekpa or Pointer go out, I'm good. You are right though, we do need rebounds.

In a FWIW, when the Daily news starts writing articles about our subs, there is an excitement and interest in this squad. When a recruit sees that a major daily paper is writing articles about players not getting major minutes, that can only help recruiting.

Amar's hard work is proving results because he has shown improvement this season and provided some quality minutes for StJ's during the Providence game.

Unfortunately for us recruits don't read the Daily News.

Thought he played great and was the difference in the first half. He really is huge and is light on his feet. Reminds me of the size Cuse always has on the sides of the bottom of their zone.

My hope is that Amar's hard work and skill sets result in him being serviceable bench player down the road. But I still have my reservations and that hasn't changed based on one good half of basketball all year.

He played very well during the first half today
Better backup option to Obekpa than Joey D

I think some situations will call for JDR, so I'm disappointed that Lavin ices him, but I like Amar a lot. Very active on the floor, and you get the feeling the offense will come.
