Jim McGinty a St. John's BBA, MBA, Hon., retired U.S. Marine Corp Col. successful business executive has written his first novel, Right to Kill - A Brooklyn Tale. It received excellent reviews that state it is hard to put down and provides a feel for the culture of working class Brooklyn during the Viet Nam era and that culture's attitudes toward service to one's country and justice.
Jim has been a longtime supporter of St.John's. He came up with the idea of the Washington D.C. alumni chapter's Insider View of the Capital Program. His idea was initially rejected but he continued to push to get it started.. It has been a great success helping students with scholarships and broadening their views of life outside of college for over 30 years. Jim has also been a longtime generous contributor, starting the chapter's Joseph Addabbo Scholarship among other bequest.
