Many of you know Alex Evans. Sadly, I was texted last night that his wife, Roxanna, passed away after a short stay in a hospital.
I know little more than that as I am still in Florida.
I do know they live in Queens (Forest Hills? maybe). Perhaps one of our posters has some information regarding hours or a preferred charity, or a place where condolences may be sent. I hope they would post them here.
 
Very sad to here. I have wondered what happened to him after he left St. John's.

Yes, Alex, lives in Forest Hills, just a block from away from where I live. So sorry to hear about it. Our condolences.

I don't know Alex but he is a fellow member of the S. John's community. My sincerest condolences to him and his family on his loss.
 
services were this AM. Fox funeral home will pass along all notes sent to Alex through them. No charity was specifically noted. I will gift StJ in her name.
 
The following is being passed along from Facebook:

"The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Roxana's name to the St. John's Legends Scholarship Fund. All checks can be made payable to St. John's University, attention Kathleen Mannion, Office of Donor Relations, St. John's University, 8000 Utopia Parkway, Queens NY 11439."

The Legends Fund benefits an incoming freshmen from Long Island, New York City, or Romania, Roxana's place of birth.
