After 15 games

I would like to post what i said after 2 exhibition games and keep the conversation from that point on (2months ago)

I am impressed by Sanchez (especially his quickens and ball control + he can hit the 3 ball)
After 15 games i still consider him a great asset but for a 24+ year old he needs to play much much aggressive! (BTW looked over the internet and you cant find his DOB-even on SJU site that has everyone else) If you find his DOB i promise you a beer!
Gift is playing much more aggressive. Hopefully he will do as good with good competition.
Hustle is there but skill is missing. Not a D1 player.
Jordan has not impressed me just yet. But i do believe the hype. Love his calm demeanor.
Jordan and Harrison are the hearts of the team. Blessed to have him and praying he wont transfer.
Pointer is a freak of nature. Most energetic and athletic. Very happy he's on our side.
Very low bball IQ. His mistakes will cost us games. One of our top defenders but his offense is limited.
I have a feeling Branch improved and will keep on improving.
I know most of you hate Branch. I don't! I actually enjoy watching him. I think hes the best passer on the team. He does make silly mistakes/turnovers but i still consider him our best 5-6 player.
Harrison looks like a reformed player. Bundle of energy. Still think he forces 3's when not needed.
Forced shots still bother men but without him we are in deep deep offensive trouble! Very glad about his attitude change. Pleasure to watch him when hes on.
Hooper is still a mystery to me. Hitting shots in practice is not the same as game time. Can't create his own shot and his defense is very suspect. I do not see him playing much.
Don't see anything special in him. Can't create his own shot. Liability on defense. Not a Big East caliber player. I don't think he will be able to get a shot off in conference play unless we are up/down by 15 (when other team is not guarding him)
French man is not a Big East caliber player. Wishing him all best but don't have anything good to say about his play.
Whatever i said above
Greene will not give up his minutes lightly (Branch, Jordan) he will fight for it and i have a feeling that there will be games where we love him or hate him.
I was right about him getting significant minutes. The kid must be a gem in practice. There is only one way to put it -Lavin loves him
Jakarr 2 most athletic player with a great creativity going to the basket. Same like Greene one day on one day off. Not ready for NBA.
NBA? I am not sure he will make it in Europe! Wake up Jakarr! We need you!
We have not seen Obekpa but he looks like he gained some muscle which is a plus.
Oh Chris i cry every time you go up to the line. Besides blocks i don't think he brings anything else to the table. NBA Draft blogs are dropping his stock every day.
Felix B activated!
WTF! WHY!

The talk that we will be hitting our stride in mid Feb. is confusing. That sounds as if we are a young inexperienced team but the facts show just the opposite. Of the nine players logging significant minutes 1 is a freshman, 1 is a soph, 5 are three yrs. out of high school and 2 are four or five yrs. out of high school. I would guess that we are one of the most experienced teams in both age and minutes played in the Big East.
Didn't the team start practice in Aug. due to the European trip? If the target date of mid Feb. is delayed 20 days the season is over.

Think he meant February of 2015.

My guess is the February date is to buy time. It'll be too late. It's like Mets ownership saying we'll hit our stride in September when they're twenty games below .500 in June.

Any competent coach knows how is team is doing and what they are capable of. Teams play as they practice. Coach must not be too happy with what he has seen so far. Figures it has to be better by February. Plus, I think we have a few more homes games from the first of February to the first of March, so he may be banking on that. Lavin is fully aware of the product he puts on the floor.

I can't believe Coach Lavin went with yet another starting line up with a walk on starting. We're down 30 and I look at the bench and Coach Chiles has his head in his hands as if he realizes there is no strategy, no solid game plan and the team just isn't ready to play. Georgetown obviously scouted St. John's very well. Watch a team like Michigan run there offense. Then watch us with everybody back from last year. The team played better under Dunlap. It's one thing losing to Syracuse and being competitive and then there is losing like this. Everyone including the coaching staff should be totally embarrassed. Who cares if they played a little better in the second half. G'town relaxed in the second half. Yeah, we'll hit our stride in February. Right. If we don't we'll be in last place in the Big East. I just hope the team wakes up for the next game or it might be long year.

I have to officially apologize to coach Dunlap. I hated him the year he was in charge, but I do think he would have done a better job with this group. Now recruiting would worry me with him (If I had any ability combined with my current personality, I wouldn't want to play for him at all), but he would have taken garbage, and at least made them respectable every year.
