ACC Tournament Headed To NYC

The 2017-21 tournament sites have not been determined, but one of those years it will be New York and the Barclays Center.

It's actually amusing.

They'll be able to fill seats.

But I'd venture to say that they'll be more empty seats at BC than MSG for the first 2 rounds of the tourney.

This is a joke though.

The A10 has the Barclay center for 4 more years so I guess it is after that ends?

They are a great conference but their tourney doesn't travel well. Ours wouldn't travel well either; however, ours doesn't have to.
I've attended the ACC in Tampa. where everyone in the nation wants to come in the spring, winter and Fall and it represents only a "break" for the hard core loyalists.. Tickets were available and not for hundreds of dollars.
We don't need a break for our loyalists; we have the Garden. People want to be there Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring except if they have to work there and even then the restaurants and sights are much better.
Right now, the Barclay doesn't make the cut. For one example, the Syracuse fans have to take two trains to get to The Blarney Stone or McSorley's or find another joint in Brooklyn then take the subway back to Gotham with a load on. It won't be nice to watch.
The Garden is the perfect spot in the world for a college tourney. Just watch the incredible reception and response the Garden gives and gets on 3/28 - 3/30 for the Eastern Regionals. MSG will become a regular on the NCAA list for regionals and the finals going forward. I've been to Pauley, Rupp, The Palestra, Carrier Dome, Raleigh, Cameron Arena, Sun Dome and a bunch of others. The Garden is THE Garden and that's that. Brooklyn, like my "hood", the Bronx, is just "out of town". We won't even say anything about Staten Island or the Long one..

This is a joke. Anxious to play in the northeast after adding former big east schools Notre Dame and Louisville? Either one of those schools are in the northeast. I can't imagine ACC fans are happy about this except for SU and Some Duke and ND fans in the area.

Still waiting for the major media outlets to pick up on this.

Especially Mrs. ACC aka ESPN

Duke would lose their home field advantage and hand it over to Cuse costing Duke top seeds in the NCAA tourney every year.

Surely the powers at be of the ACC wouldn't want that.

I don't see it as amusing because I can see them in the Garden if the BE doesn't fill the house

Relax! The ACC. "may" play in Brooklyn in the next 7 years ONCE! And that is strictly to deliver on a promise to Syracuse. After that you will see the ACC tourney in Louisville before you will ever see it at the Garden.
Hopefully by 2015 we will see a 12 team Big East pulling in two additional basketball schools to increase television market share.

It's pathetic. . I think the ACC makes a mistake showcasing their event there until it develops. It's the JV gym in this town and probably will be for a while.

Here’s my take. Jim B. at ‘Cuse loves the Garden, it was when they played us recently, he said to the NY papers, its "his favorite place to play". I guess he meant other than the Carrier Dome.

But by the time the ACC plays its Tourny in NYC, Jimmy B will be long-retired.

ND always likes to play NY and so does Pitt. Duke does too. But the Barclay’s Center is NOT the Garden!

Let them permanently put their Tournament in Greensboro, that is where it belongs!

I hate the ACC for raiding the best BB conference ever.
