ACC starting its move northward?

As Gman would say----yawn!
It took them only 11 even years to get back over the Mason-Dixon line! How old will that four eyed fruck and rat face by the time they get to New Jersey?

Could this be a precursor to an invite to Georgetown. I doubt it but stranger things have happened.
Beyond that would the Hoya's accept?

As much as it pains me, yukon will be the next acc addition.

I could see that going both ways. As much fun as it would be to see yukon floating nomadically in a new conference without any real direction, having them join the ACC without Calhoun and going the way of BC (perenially Top 25 in hoops and football in the BE; irrelevant in both since moving to the ACC) might be just as if not more enjoyable.

I would look at this as more of a reaction and an F.U. to Maryland and the Big Ten than a warning shot to the Big East. Yeah it is where Georgetown plays all its home games there but thats it.

I would love to see the ACC Tourney at the Carrier Dome and what the reaction would be to their fans having to spend a March in Upstate NY. I think they would realize that Syracuse is not even remotely close to NYC. Notice there is not much chatter about doing the ACC Tourney in Boston either.

Don't be surprised if the next ACC invite goes to Cincinnati. Cincy did not sue the ACC. Connecticut's Richard Blumenthal did and the ACC paid $5M to settle the matter. Don't think the old boys don't remember this.

Arguably Cincinnati bring better demographics than UConn since Boston College already provides media to New England and Rutgers bring media access to the New York metro area.

UConn also fans thought they were next up for an invite to the ACC before the invite to Louisville.

I've lived in New England for 40 years.
Nobody up here gives a flying sh!t about bc hoops.
yukon, as much as it pains me, brings so much more to the table.
Men's and women's hoop, men's and women's soccer, and a football team that very recently won in south bend.
Lots of tv's also.

A football team that is 0-8 and heading in free fall. BTW, no one in Boston gives a rats arse about Uconn either. With Notre Dame being the 15th odd wheel in the ACC in Basketball name only, I doubt they need Uconn to pollute the football tree over at the ACC that is rotting at the core.

I don't see UConn offering the ACC anything more than another welfare school to dole out money to. Their football program offers nothing, and even when good aren't a huge commodity. A Cahoun-less basketball program also offers very little that the ACC can hang their hat on. In addition, BC would fight it tooth and nail. I just don't see it happening. ACC better off grabbing another more southern school somewhere with big football. I even think UCF or USF would be far better for their football purposes as would Cincy.

Forecast. The ACC is moving north and the Big 10 is moving east, where both will eventually merge with an area of low pressure in Jamaica, to create the perfect Red Storm. I don't care who plays me in the movie as long as Diane Lane takes her shirt off.

Don't you think that a division with BC, Syracuse, and UCONN would help to restore BC's hoops program?

IMHO a lot of ACC people look at UCon as the same type of trouble as UNC. UNC is inextricable for the ACC but no reason to bring in another one.

Nope, The biggest winter sport by far at bc is ice hockey.

So it was hockey that destroyed BC basketball, and not the departure from the Big east with tons of local rivalries?

It started with O'Brien leaving because of lack of support from the administration.
They've never recovered.

He was a pretty good coach. Didn't his wife die or was really sick, and our fans were taunting him behind their bench? Vague memory here.
