A Big Thank You To Redmen.Com

The past week has been like election night of a close presidential race. Like Kennedy-Nixon and Gore-Bush all over again. That was just about electing the most powerful leader of the most powerful nation on earth. But this time it's for something that really was important-the future of SJU basketball. This site was the only place you had to be to find out everything, minute by minute, about the end of the Lavin era and the beginning, or maybe we can call it, the grand re-opening of the Chris Mullin era.

Many thanks to Paultzman for keep us posted on the latest news. That Paultzman did so while never being combative is pretty amazing around here. Thanks to Mr. Google for breaking the news of the Lavin departure. Thanks to Beast for his passion about the program, and for making the case for bringing Chris Mullin back home. Thanks to all the other posters I left out, who dropped hints about what was coming, or just kept the conversation interesting. and a big thank you to the mods and people behind the board. This had to be a record breaking week for monitoring posts. Although I was initially leaning to one of the Hurleys, hiring Chris is really going for the home run. I know this doesn't usually apply, but it's great to be an SJU basketball fan right now.

The last few months have had more twists and turns (and entertainment) than any daytime soap. Characters leaving, suspended, threatening to leave, disappearing, favorite son’s returning, exhilarating wins, brutal losses… If this stuff was on TV, the Emmy’s would be stacking up. Great to be part of it all.

And I can speak for many of us when I can say that because of redmen.com this has been the least productive work week of my professional career!.....thank you to all the great posters on here and a special thanks to paul for keeping the site rolling.....it's been a wild ride but today i feel as though it's all been worth it......

There was a pretty long leash this week. I don't know if we removed any posts. This was by far the most active I ever remember the site.

I wonder too how many relationships were frayed this week! How many of us were checking Redmen.com while out with our significant others? At a dinner? At a family gathering? At Palm Sunday mass? LOL!
