Take a moment to watch Jerry West shot the lights out at age 75.

If you listen to the end of the video you will West say that he hasn't shot a basketball in years but can still nevertheless shoot better than most college players.

West can't slash and is not that athletic. :cheer:

But can he still shoot from 65 feet? Today that would have won the game and not just tied it, and it wasn't a heave, it was a legitimate shot.

1970 NBA finals

Hey Bobo - Thanks for posting that shot. Kids today (and adults too) would find it hard to believe that there were some NBA players in that era who could compete very nicely in today's NBA. West, easily one of the greatest guards of all time, is one of them. He was also a great defender, and could bring the ball to the basket as well as being one of the best jump shooters of all time. He then caps a brilliant playing career by becoming one of the most talented executives in NBA history.

The 1970 NBA Finals- Game 7 - Knicks vs. Lakers. This video is the entire broadcast from pregame to postgame interviews

This was a great game and one that I will never forget.
West was "held" to 25 points while Clyde Frazier scored 36 and had 19 assists to lead the Knicks to the championship.

May 8, 1970. It was a Friday night I believe, and my birthday. I was at a boy scout meeting with a transistor radio in my pocket and earphone in one ear. The game was blacked out on NY television. Reed's iconic moment, but it was Frazier, as you stated, who was the real hero that night.
