confidence at the right time

Jak is a awesome talent that makes every johnnys game worth watching

Pointer has proven worthy of more minutes due to his all around talent with ball

Obe is a monster shot blocker that might be able to develop a hook shot

This team might shock the Hoyas in maryland its gonna be cool to watch them grow up

Good Luck Johnnys & thanks for a exciting ride into march

Wait till we play bigger teams. We will get destroyed if we go three guards. Knowing how thin we are up front, those teams only have to keep pounding the ball inside to get our thin bigs in foul trouble.

if you listen carefully to all of Lavin's commentary, he has consistently said that he is not married to any one line-up and will adjust the SJU line-up to the opponent. Versus bigger / physical teams, you will see more Obekpa. Versus better shooting teams, you'll see the 3 guard line-up. The starting lineup and rotation will depend on the specific game.

The great thing is that besides Dlo there is not one player on this team who is does not have the room for improvement either physically or fundamentally and they all have the look that it will happen either through the balance of this season or next. Good times.

If he goes 3 guards against those teams, he has to start Obekpa, and bring Pointer off the bench.

I would bring Greene off the bench against big teams, myself, but Obekpa has to start.

Agree, against the cuse, ville and Pitt I'd switch Chris for Phil. But looking at the rest of the schedule, aside from those three I think he stays with what he's got right now. I also think Amir and Jones get more of a look against bigger teams, but we'll see.

If a team has a quality big that figures to give you fits, trying to make life miserable for their guards can be best option. Making him run hard getting back something some bigs not happy with. What did we do to get Brey to sit his big out?

God I hope STJ isn't playing G'town in Maryland. That would mean that either the bus got way lost or we've timewarped back to like 1994 and are playing at the Capital Centre.

agree with Section 9. The minutes in the box score of late have been changing depending on the game at times. Jones provided some inside hustle when needed a couple of weeks back, and Amir, seems more than willing to do dirty work inside. He's been challenging hard in the paint. Though Obepka looked good rebounding last night too. And D'Lo has been grabbing key boards the past few weeks as well. I think with each passing win, the "team" approach is becoming more ingrained. Bigger teams may work the inside well against us, sheesh, Teague had it easy at times yesterday, but we can score against them too. JSimp's mid range game bothers the bigs. And each of the three guards can create their own shot.

Whatever, it's been fun to watch develop. Just wish I wasn't in 119 for the G'Town game...first game since going to Fordham two years ago...

maybe I should hit an earlier game and get the monkey off the back quicker! :)

peace y'all.

You are correct!
Seton Hall almost stole the game pounding it inside. Their big center was scoring at will.
If Chris starts I hope the coaches have finally devised an offensive set or two that includes him because the only time he is touching the ball is when he is blocking shots. He has the ability to score inside but Lavin has not shown us he has an offensive game plan that includes CO. If we had a "Lavin Meter" here, he would get very low voltage for the inclusion of CO in the offense.

If CO stayed need the blocks and when someone runs it in that is the best chance I see him getting points. He has some post moves but I don't think we see them running plays for him till next year

CO is a foul collector and I'd rather see him around at the end for some offense/defense switchoffs with Garrett. I was shocked to see him in on offense and defense Sunday at the end. I'm sure Hall had orders to foul him whenever but we kept the ball away. That leaves only four guys to score though. Maybe Lavin was practicing the situation. I also thought Dom came back in a bit early and went out on a foul 25 feet from the hoop. Not too smart but a nice win anyway.Hope he learns from that.

Did anyone catch CO trying to block a long three attempt from the corner late in the game. He flew out from under the basket, and went up at least 7-8 from the shooter. Had he gotten it, it would have been a highlight reel shot. It was amazing watching him go airborne as it was, and underscores his hustle. He is making the blocked shot as exciting as a dunk. One of his rejections aginast SHU sent the ball rejected back to one of our guys near the key, Another goal tend got so much ball, my thinking was it was legal and not on the way down. Damn, he's fun to watch.

I don't see Dom as anything but a starter vs. the top teams. Brings too much to the table

I agree, Dom has earned his spot in the starting lineup.

Dom is proving his ranking was a fluke. only see him getting better from here. He can do it all.

Hes not proving his rankings were a fluke. He is proving they were accurate. He is Lavins top ranked recruit.
