2020 Point Guard

We know we still need a PG for this year to hold the ship for next season. And even with McGriff there is a need for a 2020 point guard. If I draw a line in the sand and our 2020 PG is one of the names below I think all SJU fans should be extremely happy.

Andre Curbelo
Hassan Diarra
RJ Davis
AJ Hoggard
Posh Alexander

Others like Quarran McPherson and Jamal Mashburn are on the radar but I think they are likely a level below.

Thoughts?

Give me Curbello based on everything I've read. Hopefully the in-roads made were as much about the school and staying local as they were about Mullin and the prior staff recruiting him.

I’d be ecstatic with any of the Top 5 guards you listed, Moose.
But even though they’re not ranked as high as Curbelo or Alexander, I’d prefer , being greedy, either Hassan Diarra or AJ Hoggard.
I think those 2 guys have a ‘tough’ label attached to them and I like that in a PG.
Both remind me of Myles Powell.
I can dream.
Lol.
It’s still early.
Let’s see how this plays out and which couple the Staff prefers as next season develops.
But it’s neat we’re in the mix for some skilled kids.

I'd love Curbelo if possible. I don't understand Posh Alexander talk...does anyone remember a few years ago when some reporter asked him about SJ he said something like, "I want to play for a bigger program than that"? I'm pretty certain it was him...and if it was how could he be on our radar after a comment like that?

I'd be very happy with any of the five you mentioned, although if I had my pick, I would prefer one of Curbelo, Diarra or Hoggard. Curbelo seems like the perfect point guard and the other two seem like tough kids as CDays mentioned and also have a little more height than Alexander & Davis.

Curbelo
Diarra
Hoggard

Told RJ Davis family is really focused on academics and that explains why he entertained Northwestern as well as Georgetown early. A few months ago the indication was Johnnies were not in the picture. I doubt the new staff can make up ground on this one and he may very well land at Georgetown.

With the staff now in place with 4 recruiters I am very confident we land one of Mooses players listed. I think this staff will do damage with the 2021 class.
