2019 Bracketology

Only 4 from the Big East in total.

As you say SJU61982, way too early to worry about these kind of projections. Fact is, if MH can play, no excuse for us not to be a top 25 team and dancing and even if he can't play no reason we can't be competing to dance. I'd assume his projection for us is w/o MH, but who knows?

I can't think of anyone from Xavier who would start for us this year.
Because they have a great coach: Chris Mack; oh wait a minute.............;)

All this confirms is that we have been so irrelevant for so long that even when we should be a lock we need to prove it twice as much as the "regulars".
If MH is playing we will make the Tourney and be a threat to at least challenge in the BE. We will have a great backcourt with versatile players all over the court. Again, it all hinges on eligibility. I'll assume those that have us out are waiting to hear just like us.
Lunardi also released his first one today, and we are nowhere to be found on it. He has 5 from the Big East (adding Seton Hall in with the four teams Palm selected).

That was done before the floors were replaced in CA. :silly:

Would just like to keep momentum going and land targets before season starts and have a lot of pieces locked in for following year

If we change our school name to Syracuse, I guarantee you that he will be wrong about us all the way through Selection Sunday!

That's fair. Truth is we have been so bad for so long that cautious optimism is best course for pundits and for fans.

Agree. It'll make it all that much sweeter to shake up the College Hoops world.
We'll be 'on the bubble' without Mustapha, but with him I'm confident that happens.

Thinking that much of the thinking that went into these premature 2019 bracketology predictions were formulated more than 7 days ago. Heron and Ponds should have changed the prognostication but it may be more of a cautious non endorsement of the staff. Finishing lower than 6th place would be a nightmare for Chris Mullin.

Looking at the situation from a national perspective we have had three awful years in a row. Until we prove something on the court we will not get much respect in those circles.

Understandably.

I'm sure they're only counting the players who are sure things right now for this coming season, so Heron is not a factor in this projection I'd assume. Agree with the other posters saying we have been awful nationally and haven't lived up to billing almost ever, so shouldn't be surprising. When you have 3 terrible years you lose the benefit of the doubt in both recruiting and projections by pundits. Just another reason this season is all or nothing.
