Never to early, any insight on schedule for next year?

As of right now I know:
Atlantis
@ Syracuse

I did hear the school administration wants to start a home and home with UCONN but the Coaching staff has pushed back. Obviously money is the key from the school's thinking.

Why have they sent season ticket renewals so soon? They usually come in August. I guess they are worried and they have good reason to worry.

Based on the support shown the team this disappointing year and with next year's' outlook being more positive I think ticket sales will increase.

I know they picked up some new season ticket holders as a result of Mullin. They probably want to try and lock in as many as possible as I don't see many new season ticket holders this year.

Because if you start now (or April 1st), you can pay the tickets off in installments. You can make 8 monthly payments starting April 1, 7 monthly payments starting May 1, etc., all the way down to a 3 payment plan starting September 1st.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I think it's a good idea. If you're living on a strict budget, this can be a more affordable way to still get season tickets.

I googled "future Big East basketball schedules" and found a site that listed each team's known/possible games for 2016-17 and beyond.

Here is what was listed for St John's for 2016-17:

Gavitt Game (against Big Ten opponent - last year, it was Rutgers)
Battle 4 Atlantis
@ Syracuse
@Long Beach State
Longwood
vs. Arizona State @ MGM Grand)
Gene Keady Classic (w/Missouri State, Kansas St & Purdue) - may have scheduling conflict
Air Force @ MSG - listed as a possible game *

Certainly reasonable to think so.

While I'm not expecting it, it would be great if we could sell out CA for the season.

Is @Syracuse confirmed?

I'm very excited for that if true. I think we could win. Cooney, Gbinje, and I'm hearing their freshmen Richardson are all gone. They have two top 100 recruits, but our team knew how to attack that 2-3 zone.

If adding Conn to the schedule is mainly a money grab so be it. This administration has increased the men's basketball program budget considerably and playing Conn. not only is a money maker but Conn. is the type of opponent SJU should be playing in two years if they are serious about competing on a high level.

no complaints here about playing historic Big East Opponents. The Holiday Classic should look at putting together old big east teams, it would give a much better flavor to it.

As I have previously stated before, I have no problem playing former BE rivals on a one on one basis (for example, away at Cuse and home vs UConn next year and reverse it the following year). I have a big problem with trying set up a multi team tournament based Old Big East vs. New Big East. which would appear to be nothing more than the Old Big East trying to hang on to past glory. No need for it and no thanks.

But Amar is gone.

What are we going to do?

fair enough, hopefully in 5-10 years we won't even have the desire to live off old big east memories.

What are we going to do?

You can be sure Boeheim will not tolerate another loss to Johnnie's and I expect a smack down that Mullin can add to the list for future payback.

Think SJU would ever do this.............

The Univ. of Michigan ticket office "has reached out to students regarding a downward trend in basketball ticket requests," according to Tony Paul of the DETROIT NEWS. The department, in an email sent to students who had not yet renewed for next season, wrote, "So far, men's basketball student ticket renewals are significantly lower than they have been in recent years. ... We would like to find out why so we can better serve future student ticket-holders." Paul notes Michigan basketball "had a tough time with attendance this season, and not just with the students." There were "large pockets of empty seats for almost all games, even the marquee games like Maryland and Michigan State." UM Associate AD/External Communications & PR Kurt Svoboda said that it is "too early to tell how many Michigan students will hold tickets" for '16-17, as the "deadline for tickets isn't until the summer." For most games this past season, Crisler Center "allocated about 25 percent of the capacity, or 2,530 seats, to students." There were "no games" where all the student tickets were claimed. The home schedule "could be one reason for the lack of enthusiasm." Outside of Xavier and the Big Ten slate, Michigan "didn't have an appealing opponent at Crisler Center" (DETROIT NEWS, 4/13).

Rothstein has only confirmed Binghamton.

Longwood was brought up by Baldi on JJ. Don't know if he was breaking news with that, or if he was just taunting this game (because he hates us playing anyone but a major conference power, or Iona, in the non-conference...).
