2015 Maui Invitational: Indiana, Kansas, St. John's, Wake, Vandy, Chaminade, UCLA, UNLV.

Terrible year for us to go. I really hope we're not paired up with Chaminade in the first round.

Agree. Would much rather face them in the finals. :)

I don't know. It may look bleak now, but outside of Kansas and maybe UNLV, are any of these teams going to be great next year?

Plus, as I keep saying, we won't be going in to next year with a roster as barren, numbers-wise, as everyone seems to think. We will get players. Weather they are great players or not remains to be seen, but the roster will be added to, I think we all agree.

IMO, the two players Lavin has to recruit right now: Rysheed Jordan and Chris Obekpa. He has to sell them on waiting another year for the NBA, and that they can be the cornerstones for this team to do great things. If those two do come back next year (I would think that's almost impossible in Chris's case), then you at least have a nice starting point. There would still be some gaps to plug in, but the team won't be totally pitiful.

That's the best thing you can say about St John;s next year-THE TEAM WON'T BE TOTALLY PITIFUL! Boy isn't this fanbase lucky!

I guess I should add that I only had about 2 and a half seconds to write that line (you should never totally take my words seriously, anyway, lol).

Bottom line is, we don't know what next year's team will look like yet. While we probably shouldn't be drinking the kool-aid over it, we should not totally write it off just yet, either.

It's unbelievable that we are just playing in this now after all the years it's been going on.....but it's great that we are playing in it.

This is the premiere tournament in season in college bb.

To me things like this are better recruiting tools than playing at MSG. Great exposure here....and we aren't going to lose to Chaminade stop the nonsense!

Pat Langlois has long since left Chaminade. They're not the program they once were. ;)

I went to HS with Pat and he was on a team there that beat #12 Louisville in the first tourney in 1984. He was named tourney MVP though they lost to Providence in the finals. He wasn't on the 1982 team that beat Ralph Sampson's Virginia Cavaliers.

Chris is 6'9 in sneakers. He is still physically not strong enough for the NBA. What position do you guys see him being drafted for in the pros?

it's not what position we see him being drafted ,it's what position he sees himself being drafted. Many players leave college before they are ready.Hopefully he'll stay. If he and Jorden leave, we sure will have a lot of positions to fill.

The same one as Sampson. :)

Same here. From they way the site looks, it seems that each school will have their own individual plan/travel package.

The Queens, N.Y. native spent seven years as the head coach at UCLA, whom the Red Storm could meet in Maui.

Since when is Lavin a Queens native?

Agree but too bad we have been unable to capitalize on it as a recruiting tool.
