QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's will unveil a new hospitality area for men's basketball games at Carnesecca Arena this season with the opening of 1870 Court. As part of an overarching commitment to the fan experience at Red Storm basketball games, 1870 Court is the latest enhancement that will serve as an exclusive pregame reception area for alumni, donors and season ticket holders. The 1870 Court, which was named in honor of the year that the University was founded, will open two hours prior to tip-off and will feature a variety of concessions and entertainment options for guests before each game.
Located inside Taffner Field House adjacent to Carnesecca Arena, 1870 Court was designed with the intention of allowing St. John's patrons to gather in a casual, fan-friendly environment with tailgate games and other activities. The private hospitality area with a dedicated entrance will also have a rotating menu and cash bar service.
1870 Court is reserved exclusively for St. John's alumni, donors and season ticket holders. Tickets, which include a food voucher, can be purchased in advance online through RedStormTix.com or at the door for $10. Red White Club donors will receive complimentary access to 1870 Court and will garner additional benefits at the following giving levels:
$100 - $249 – (2) food vouchers and (2) drink vouchers at 4 games
$250 - $499 – (2) food vouchers and (2) drink vouchers at 10 games
$500 and above – (2) food vouchers and (4) drink vouchers at all Carnesecca Arena home games
(2) limited edition 1870 Court gifts
Fans can get a sneak preview of the new 1870 Court on Thursday, Nov. 1, before St. John's exhibition game against Maryville University. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Carnesecca Arena.
