10 Teams that Can Win It All
(spoiler alert: 3 are in the Big East)

Love they do not include us but I firmly believe Pitino will have this team as one of capable winning it all this year!!!
Of course all this is based on previous years stats etc but we have good to great 3 point shooting, great free throw shooting, a couple top rebounders, depth with high quality to very very good players, senior leadership and lets not forget a hall of fame coach leading and teaching them!!! I am not buying anything about hoping to win a game in the tourney stuff!!! :)

I’m as anxious & giddy as everyone here. But let’s not start expecting huge results
just to be disappointed if not sweet 16 or more. we are extremely deep, but
not one of our projected starters is projected as a lottery pick.

we definitely ARE built to win THIS year as 4 of 5 projected starters are seniors or grad.
coaches have a huge job to get this talented bunch cohesive & figure out combinations.
i for one expect top half of BE, get better as season goes on & not be anxious on
selection Sunday. Big East is crazy strong this year. sweet 16 is a realistic goal

I absolutely understand your premise. But this fanbase has been starving for something positive to grab on to.

Now, not only are there positive vibes, but they are Pitino fuel injected.

It is perfectly fine for anyone here to dream a little, because Pitino has reached a final four in his previous three coaching stops. Now, instead of lamenting “why us?”, we can instead ask with a good amount of optimism, “why not us”?

Paraphrasing RFK? It's one of the best speeches by Bobby when he was capturing the ideals of American youth.

You can keep your expectations lower and that is more than fine. But if you think sweet 16 is a realistic goal then winning a couple more to get to a final 4 is not out of reach. Its all about matchups and if an revamped FAU, Kansas state or Miami team can make it far into last years NCAA, I say with the group Coach Pitino put together and his coaching and coaching staff of course we can as well.
I am not saying we WILL be winning it all or WILL make the final 4, but we should be CAPABLE of being there with how he put this group together.

I don't think creighton Or Marquette are any better then sju. This team without Rick, or Rick with last year's team then yeah they would be better, but Rick with this new team, i'd say that we're right there with them, so if they can l win it all, then why can't we? UConn might be 2 or 3pnts better at the most.

Here's my prediction:
Top 3 finish in the B.E.
Get to Friday in the B.E. Tournament
At minimum the Sweet 16

Your post is the stuff of dreams that make us all fans - hope springs eternal.

I've travelled to the past 3 entries to the NCAA tournament - Denver, Charlotte, and Dayton. We did not play even one competitive game. BUT, walking into the Charlotte Arena there is a jumbotron outside that listed all 64 teams. The realization hits you that we are playing for the national championship and are just 6 wins away.

Of course each time, within a few minutes of the jump ball you knew it just wasn't to be.

Now's the time to dream big, before any of the injuries, suspensions, blown chances and leads materialize. Not saying they will, but...

Also, other teams are still benefiting from the COVID year too. There are a bunch of teams with experience and pretty stacked rosters, several in the big east. I think a top six finish and an NCAA tourney berth would be a good season.

I'll be disappointed if we don't make the dance without any worries and don't finish in top half of the Big East. I think we could easily do better but so much of that is matchups and good fortune.
But we have a crazy deep team which helps in not worrying too much about bad breaks.
