A text by “Slick Rick” alleges DePaul offered $200K to 5* 2017 recruit Brian Bowen to play at DePaul.

Bowen originally committed to play for the Louisville Cardinals but was suspended by the team after it was alleged that his family accepted payments in exchange for him choosing to attend Louisville. Bowen later tried going to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks, but due to an NCAA ruling, he removed himself from college and the 2018 NBA Draft altogether. Bowen was named a McDonald's All-American as a senior in high school in 2017.

Not sure where to post this but Bowen just signed to play in the Aussie NBL. New program to attract more Terrance Ferguson types. League pays the salary rather than the team and they don't count against the max international player limit. Logic is they're only there for one year so asking teams to carry the risk isn't right but league wants to leverage it to gain a higher international profile.

On another note I noticed that the RSCI #19 recruit Darius Bazley is going the G League route and he wrote an article explaining his decision. Apparently he chose G League over Syracuse. This has always been an option for kids who want to claim they're forced to go to school for a year. Be interesting to see how that works out.
