Always strikes me as odd when supposedly manly-man athletes engage in such homoerotic hazing.

Have a friend who played college baseball in Michigan. Teammates apparently loved to throw the word fag around but then also had their masturbation rituals.

Weird that this sort of hazing is still going on and that kids aren't just saying no and ending the cycle.
 
This type of behavior How long was it going on. Those administering it. must hace also been subject to it and justified to their minds that it was the "norm"

seriously... dont get it... im not gonna pretend "Hazing" doesnt exist... a rite of passage / comradery building / brotherhood etc... its the sick/twisted/sexual stuff I don't understand...

At Holy Cross (my college) - Hazing was all drinking related... (and yes- bad stuff can happen there- i know)... but atleast it was fun
 
A friend of mine from England told me about a centuries-old boarding school tradition
called fagging, where a younger student is assigned to an older student and becomes responsible for getting them cigarettes (called fags there) and other things. It quickly evolved into sexual stuff as well.

The schools have been trying to combat it and bring in speakers at the beginning of the school years to denounce the tradition.

After the speaker gave his presentation and left my friend’s school, the headmaster told all the boys “fuck what that guy said, do what you want.” He graduated high school in 2005, so not that long ago.

Of course we know it still exists. I know there was a drinking related hazing death at Penn State while my son was there. Huge lawsuit and criminal charges. Institutions that treat it as fun antics are in deep legal peril if they don’t take steps to prevent it.
 
Sports all through my life until college. Never had anything like this sick stuff happen fortunately.

Making the new guy carry the equipment bags, or get up and sing a fight song, was the extent of it.

In a fraternity, getting paddled by a wooden paddle, was supposed to be a tradition but by 1971 nobody felt like doing it, so we had paddles, but they only hung on the frat wall. Worst thing is once a guy "streaked" through a frat party, (look it up youngins that was once a thing). We drank more and all laughed even the girls. No one believe me wanted to see this particular guy naked.

2025, and all the prior lawsuits, and news media attention exposing this nonsense, you'd think it would end.

my buddy went to school in Alabama and pledged a frat that all the golf guys joined and went through the worst stuff I had ever heard and peeing on him was the least worst of the things. To this day those guys are his best friends which I absolutely don't understand how

I never did the frat thing at St johns. Heard stories but nowhere near what he endured but no way in hell anyone is even talking down to me they will get knocked the F out and I'm mellow. . Not gonna happen and I'm not doing it to anyone else

Easier st St Johns when we were commuters school maybe

Agree. While at St J saw fellow students doing stupid stuff to pledge for fraternities and said to myself I’m not doing stupid stuff to pledge.
