When asked what type of player he was looking for Pitinos first requirement was shooting. That’s 180 degrees opposite the usual SJU requirement and probably means many SJU players will be in the portal.

Hey folks! We're all tired of losing, and the current landscape of college basketball has changed where you can immediately win. Unfortunately, that means when a new staff comes aboard; then there will be defections for one reason or another.

I trust Pitino, Macon, Masiello, and Taliek Brown to make the right moves and quickly get us the personnel that fits Pitino's vision and have us competing AND winning games in 2023-'24 (and throughout Pitino's duration).

I think Posh is not an expendable commodity and I hate the negative mojo I am feeling in regards to him. He's a 3 year starter at PG. He's a defensive pain in the *** for the opposition. Soriano, Posh, Jones, Storr and Addae-Wusu stay in my opinion (which isn't much based on my tourney bracket). All could have important roles through experience and/or skills. I could see every other Fr/So from this team in the portal by the end of the month.

Just because a player doesn’t fit Pitino’s style of basketball, does not make them trash.

I thought Lavin was good at public relations. Pitino is a master and he's got the track record to back up every word he says. Great press conference.
