Around College Basketball

Caught the last quarter and OT of Wake vs Michigan. What really stood out to me (other than that Cadeau is a classic PG) is how invisible Lendeborg was. Seemed that Dusty May saw what a mismatch Mara was for Wake but it came at the expense of Lendeborg. I'm sure he will figure that out.

Steve Forbes gets players but his teams play moron basketball. His PG cost them the game because he was absolutely convinced that at 6 foot tall or whatever he is he could score over 7'2" Mara. It did not work. Ever. Including on the last shot with a chance to win the game. Like Forbes, but cannot defend his tactical "skills."
Couldn’t believe the shot selection in the last 3-5 minutes of OT.

You would if you were the one he shot at outside his home.
Good thing for them he is better at shooting a basketball than a gun.

The incident cost him his scholarship to Memphis State and his multi-year sneaker endorsement deal with Puma (at 17 he was the first high school basketball player to sign a sneaker deal).

He was charged with multiple felony charges for firing a gun at a car full of people following an altercation at his residence. He wound up pleading guilty to a misdemeanor.

12. St. John's Red Storm (1-1)

Preseason ranking: 5

St. John's point guard issues received plenty of attention in the aftermath of the Red Storm's loss to Alabama, but an offense that scored 96 points with a 58% assist rate arguably wasn't the main culprit. It was a hugely disappointing performance at the other end of the court. The Tide scored 103 points, becoming the first nonconference opponent to score 100 against St. John's since 2004. They also scored 1.22 points per possession, more than the most (1.19) the Red Storm gave up in a game last season.

Next seven days: vs. William & Mary (Nov. 15)

Purdue already has 4 over the back fouls that weren’t called. Also announcers have referenced Alabama’s win over St. John’s 7x already.

If you're not watching Bama-Purdue right now, you should be. What a ballgame. Its like Hearns-Hagler...both sides coming out throwing haymakers.
