It wasn’t a comment about this game…looking ahead, it’s not nearly enough play-making without a third guard.
SlyFoxx and Silly could have played 40 mins at guard and we would have won tonight.

It’s game 1 but I have feeling we are going be letdown that Dillon Mitchell was here just one season.

Dillon was so highly rated coming out of HS. He's made a name for himself as a 9-10ppg, 6-7 rpg guy. And nothing wrong with that. But if he could ever shoot FT's and had a mid range jumper he would be real dangerous.
Still going to enjoy every second of him this year.
Not too concerned. In Lavin's final season SirDom played pointer guard and it didn't hurt much. I really like what Darling brings when he's on the floor. He's like having a talented jockey on a very good thoroughbred- he makes the horse faster and better.
There will be times where Darling must be on the floor, and steal some minutes from players ahead of him on the rotation. We play faster with him in, and with a very deep bench will grind other teams with 6 or 7 man rotations to dust, or at least exhaust them.
We've had enthusiasm in the crowd on opening noghts before, mostly excitement over a new coach (Lavin, Mullin, Pitino). This was much different. We are anticipating big things, and no prize seems out of reach, for once with ample reason.
Lamenting Mitchell being here one year is just a function of this crazy era of one year rosters. Players who landed here with one year of eligibility left would never have been here at all in pre-NIL days. Glass half full.
Nice to hear players admiring the rings handed out to last year players. Literally eyes on the prize and some of our guys are hungry to win here, no matter whats on their resume.
Pitino spoke, and clearly is dead serious about winning a championship, while respecting and celebrating what was accomplished last year. Nicely gave fans credit for us being undefeated at home.
Last night wasn't even the appetizer to a great meal anticipated - it was the cocktail hour. So excited, as we all are!

The thing that strikes me is the overall depth and talent level and the multiple options we have. I really don't recall that in any previous year, depite the many talented groups we have had. Have to play the games, but the ceiling can't be higher and it should be a great, fun ride.
