If this were a regular season game we'd be favored by somewhere in the neighborhood of 18-20 points.

As of now we'd be 25+ point favs vs all of those opponents you mentioned

Won’t begin to challenge your numbers because I am way out of my league as far as predicting point spreads but would not be surprised if the game is closer than that based on it being an exhibition, first time out of the gate for the Johnnies and Towson having a legit mid- major team.
Personally think it is a savvy opener, if you will, I believe Towson will come to play.

I ,too, wouldn't be surprised if the exhibition is closer than the spread mentioned by Mugs as Pitino will likely tinker with certain lineups, as well as play everyone.

Towson likes to play at a slow pace, too, which is why Rick wants to play them. Last year, unless they really had numbers, they generally held the ball.

That being said, we beat them by 18, playing mostly subs.

If I had to guess would think Rick will play everyone starters as well as subs in first game. Shorter lineup Michigan game I suspect.
Agree that Pitino will probably experiment with the lineup vs Towson. But Michigan is a Top 10 team - #7 in the AP poll- Pitino can't screw around when it comes to them.

The Michigan is an exhibition, like the one Saturday. They do not count in the standings but the Michigan one will serve more of a parameter of where we are. These are the games you see what works and what doesn’t.

This is my point. If it’s an exhibition than try crazy lineups and lose by 30. If that bothers anyone, than don’t call it an exhibition.

Why can’t it be an exhibition that you still treat seriously?
Rick has treated the Rutgers exhibitions the past two years seriously and both those games ended up being good barometers of how good we actually were in the early part of the season. I think he’ll treat this as a real game but be a little quicker to rotate in the depth guys if we’re ahead.

That's one perspective. But it's not the same as baseball where you have guys working on a new pitch, or you have guys trying to make a roster. We have 2 exhibitions and we are already deep into practices. I think the rotation may be bigger but Pitino will be coaching both games to win. Even if you are correct, and I don't disagree, if are under 10 minutes and it's a close game, this will be coached like a regular season game.
