Scary thing is that Duke basketball could get away with this, along with most of the football teams in the SEC.Next step: dynamic seating. Seats change every game based on additional donations the week prior.![]()

They could probably do it at each halftime.Scary thing is that Duke basketball could get away with this, along with most of the football teams in the SEC.
One reality and we can all whine about it, but there never was an expectation in fan's minds that we were building equity in the least through season ticket purchases. About 50% of season ticket holders ever made more than the minimum mandatory donation associated with season ticket purchase. For me this has been a lifelong journey as an sth.Yes we will all get seats. That's not the point. Loyalty means bubkis.
Sitting through countless years of subpar basketball and emotionally invested in a program for one's whole life is worth 50K dollars.
Man, I remember games at MSG where if there were 1000 fans it would be considered the norm. I was looking forward to having my kids sit in the seats that we have had for over 50 years. It was a pleasure that we would never be able to have again.
Now I'll see some rich fool sitting in my seats (when they decide to show up) and not know half the players on the team. Because when the worm turns they'll be gone.
I am going to see what they offer and it might be better to just buy select games in better seats on the resale market and then the school can get what loyalty earns you. BUBKIS.
If you have a choice sitting in your 100s same seats same cost watching Norm Robert’s or sitting in the 300s watching a potential top 5 team led by Rick Pitino for higher price what would you choose ?Yes we will all get seats. That's not the point. Loyalty means bubkis.

Nosebleed seats at CA.If you have a choice sitting in your 100s same seats same cost watching Norm Robert’s or sitting in the 300s watching a potential top 5 team led by Rick Pitino for higher price what would you choose ?
As a season ticket holder since 1988, the process is troublesome. That being said, as long as we have Coach P we will be relevant and the school is capitalizing on the moment. Any business would look to exploit a superior product for as long as they can especially with the added pressure of the NIL enviornment.I get the frustration from folks but to some other posters points what’s the alternative? We fall behind everyone and become irrelevant for another 25 years. Those who fall behind get left behind more than ever in this era.
We had a team led by Rick Pitino last year. So the proper comparison isn't Norm Roberts / Rick Pitino. It's Rick Pitino last year vs Rick Pitino this year for a 30% price increase and potentially worse seats. Most people will take that deal, I suspect, since expectations are sky high. But Pitino +30% and worse seats better deliver the goods. If you have a choice sitting in your 100s same seats same cost watching Norm Robert’s or sitting in the 300s watching a potential top 5 team led by Rick Pitino for higher price what would you choose ?
No one will or should be happy about a first weekend exit this year to say the least. We had a team led by Rick Pitino last year. So the proper comparison isn't Norm Roberts / Rick Pitino. There is a loooong way to go from here to there. Right now my expectations are to be competitive. Will worry about expectations for March in early February, maybe. No one will or should be happy about a first weekend exit this year to say the least.
I don't think it matters at this point, unless there's an injury. Ticket price hike, third year of Pitino, last year of Zuby. It kind of has to figure itself out. If the players don't live up to the hype or don't mesh and its the middle of February, than its a very disappointing season by default. There is a loooong way to go from here to there. Competing well in OOC schedule, being in top two of BE, grabbing a BE T title, getting a solid Dance seed and being a second week team w Elite 8 chance seems laudable aspiration. So many variables dictating achieving that like key injuries, chemistry, etc., but in July this possibility is not a reach and makes me happy. There is a loooong way to go from here to there. Before some posters get nutty
With the nature of the tournament, I think it’s always crazy to expect anything beyond second weekend. Before some posters get nutty for absence of winning national championship in the above road map, getting to an Elite 8 does not preclude that. Final 4 participation of course would give us a memory to cherish just like 1985.
