Thank You and Good Luck Sim

I'd be so disappointed to see Sim leave, but totally get it from his perspective with Sanon, Sellers and possibly Jackson coming. There's only so much playing time to go around.

Still think he's going to make huge strides in his junior and senior seasons. I was hoping to see that in a Johnnies uniform.

Is Sanon/Sellers/Jackson better than Smith/Richmond/RJ ?

Wilcher played 25.4 minutes with that older trio as a soph.

RJ and Kadary to me don’t belong in the same hypothetical. Could afford to play him next to those rebounders/defenders. But understand your point.

You saw this coming a mile away. Smart move by Sim. We recruited over him and his playing time would have been drastically reduced.

He will now move on and get a chance to be a starter somewhere else. No different than what brady and glover did.

Good luck to him.

Suckitude. I hate this "stuff." Love watching players who I like come in, stay and develop. Sad those days are gone.
And unless the powers to be, whoever that is, allow two year player contracts and some rational transfer limits, this continues. Just think, we will right back there filling big gaps next year. Nice to have the NIL support we have, but some of the enjoyment of college ball is headed to extinction.

Agree - play for the name on the front not on the back mantra requires some degree of continuity and mutual loyalty imho.

Clearly the staff values age over continuity as with Sim in the fold they have recruited over him all spring. Hope it works out for both sides as I am not yet convinced annual major turnover is a good thing.
Agree but in this case 2 of the 3 players brought in similar to Sim are both a year behind Sim in Jackson and Sanon.

Not sure if this was great move by Wilcher here. St. John's will prob have a better season then his new team and get more national attention if he stayed which would in turn give him more attention. Also he was going to be the starting point guard for a ranked team. As other have said, if we got Jackson he does not play point. Unless we went after a highly ranked point guard also now.

No guardrails = Mid-level programs devastated
No guardrails = Low level Division 1 programs Extinct
No guardrails = High School kids inconsequential or insignificant

Sucks but I'm not broken up about it. Sim will get a fat bag ,and all will be well with life. I wish him well, just not against us.

Professional basketball on the college level is a wild game; it's polluted with bias, greed, and turnover.

Best bet is to root for the name on the front of the jersey, and pray Rick never retires.

Wanna root for a player, root for a real professional sports league and organization, like Judge, the Yankees, and MLB :)
