Rick is getting interviewed right now during the top of the 4th
He was asked how special this season was. He mentioned it was special to win the big east and BET, but said it was just the "tip of the iceberg" and that he thinks they can have a "better basketball team" even if they don't duplicate the record next season. Sounds like a man who is very confident with how the portal is unfolding...

Impressed by Zuby throwing from the rubber as most 1st pitches are thrown from the front of the mound. Also liked the arc on the ball; must be part of Rick's training him to put more arc in his 3-point shooting.

Did you see his press conference where he claimed he was a fan of both teams? Name dropped some Mets and Yanks from the past. As long as a team had NY on the front, he was as fan. Of course, we know that's Rick-speak.I saw him wearing that jersey and I called him a traitor

In the interview with Brian Kenney he named the early 60s Yankees which my Dad was big fan of especially Bobby Richardson. Those early 60s Yankees were tail end of the dynasty started end of the 40s. He also named 69 Mets which captured the city.
I went to many Yankee and Mets game as a kid. My father would take me to Yankee games and my uncle would get tickets from his job for both.
While I definitely go to more Yankee games, if there is a group outing through my wife’s job (we use to do them at my job too before the guy who organized them retires) or a friend gets tickets ti see the Mets, I’ ll go. Heck I took a girl I was dating back in the day to Shea a few times as she jumped on the bandwagon in the mid 80’s. I can name old time and knew Mets to but I am nor a fan. I never routed for both.
I appreciate the Mets doing this and glad the guys showed up and had a good time. Lastly, as someone else posted, I am especially glad Zuby didn’t do a 50 Cent on the mound.
Mets even made special jerseys for Johnnies, with name and uniform number. Classy move, this is night and day from the Wilpon ice age. They even paid for all the letters in Vince's last name!

We all did. They were awesome. Of course the glass was paper thin and I cut my mouth on them few times, and may still have scars. But in no way was I about to throw them out.
