Not crude, classless, but that’s just my opinion, obviously a lot of posters here reveled in it and some fall all over each other to see who can post that kind of crap. I am going to my first live game Saturday with my son, his wife, their 6 year old son, my daughter and her 9 year old daughter. Both of my grandchildren play and love hoops and their request I go with them is the only thing that can get me to do it.
We may be old school but we are trying to teach them that kind of stuff should be beneath them but to each their own.
I hope you and your family have a great time and experience at the game.

I agree 1000 Percent the National Anthem needs to be respected from beginning to end, without any shout outs , etc .

The recent situation at the 4 Nations Hockey Tournament was a poor showing of whoever decided booing a Nation’s Anthem was the thing to do.

Attempts to justify it , as a response to Political commentary , are feeble excuses .

Frankly it ‘s showing disrespect to a Country’s Citizens and cannot be justified . No matter what .
I was surprised and disgusted the way the Canadian crowds reacted . And , in the far less way that a few Americans did the same .

It’s so out of character for Hockey too . A sport that always plays both Anthems , before any Athletic contest .
I don’t always condone violence, but I would pay good money (contribute to bail if required) if someone pops the jerk who always screams “Let’s Go Johnnies” after the words “were so gallantly streaming” right in the mouth the next time he does it. The asshole had some other jerks do it with him against UConn. He sits somewhere behind the basket on the home side.

It’s me.

JK I couldn’t agree more that guy pisses me off. Such a LOSER. Makes me think every time this moron is giving us bad karma and we’re gonna lose because of this malaka!

I also think if you google "Dan Hurley chants", you'll quickly find that it's also happened at Xavier and Creighton. It's just becoming a thing.
Just maybe more and more fans in the league don't like his bs antics and they're just telling him right to his face how they feel.

When you piss people off enough eventually they're going to explode.

I don't mind it one.

There must be a reason why he's singled out by multiple fan bases, and no other coach is.

This is an MSG thing. Go to any Rangers game and you'll hear loud LGR chants during all the natural breaks in the anthem.

I'm not one to yell during the anthem, but I don't think its done disrespectfully.
If you are yelling out “Let’s Go Rangers” or “Let’s go Johnnies” during the national anthem, then by definition it is disrespectful.

Hey Logan, maybe if he stopped harassing the refs: "don't turn your back on me, I'm the best damn coach in basketball." That's not classless. Maybe if he didn't get into it with fans they wouldn't chant that, hmmm just maybe.

If he chooses to be classless, then hey it works both ways. Maybe if he was a normal person then all the attention wouldn't be on him?

So yeah I'll say it also: F Danny Hurley.
Yeah I'm classless, oh well.

Said my piece and I'm done, not going back and forth on this.
We can not control the actions of others. We can only control our own actions.

The jubilation filled the air as the final horn sounded inside a Madison Square Garden bathed in red on Sunday afternoon. St. John's completing the season sweep of the UConn Huskies for the first time in 25 years and euphoria overcame Johnnie Nation. We recap another statement win, try to put into words what this season has meant to so many fans, discuss Zuby Ejifor's rise to greatness, Kadary and RJ battling through injuries and so much more

Just a ridiculous analogy, an action in my parents home vis a vis a public display of that nature. And it wasn’t a beer can, it was an empty plastic cup.
I guess subjecting children to that crap means nothing to you guys, gotta keep reliving those glorious frat days.
tick tick on the anger issues like the rest of us have. And if you want a guy who went to therapy ( I literally have no issues talking ) but let me tell you about your issues and I'll tell you mine and I tell y0ou how close you are to my dad and that I say resepectfully and in my book that's the highest compliment even though I hated playing for him even winning. I know you better than you know you

Don’t give up your day job because you know nothing about me.

As a Canadian with longstanding pro-American views (and a lovely bride from the US), and a St. John's alum, I've avoided taking the bait on several Four Nations posts here, but I will chime in briefly and encourage anyone who wants to have the discussion to reach out via PM.

I'm not in favor of the anthem escapades, but if we're going to talk about disrespecting a country's citizens, let's start with a certain leader repeatedly referring to Canada as "the 51st state" and our head of state (who I do not personally support) as Governor Trudeau. Let's have the conversation about launching economic warfare on a longtime trusted friend, ally and trading partner. I'm not saying a renegotiating of trade agreements is wrong, but out-of-the-blue gamesmanship with tariffs is, to use your word, "disrespectful."

Sadly, the relationship between Canada and the US will be forever changed. Many Canadians see the recent actions as a legitimate and existential threat -- not unlike Russia's action against Ukraine – and the beginning of a move for resources (water and critical minerals). I recognize this is difficult for many Americans to appreciate, but the anthem booing was the early/easy response to what is perceived as a real threat against a sovereign nation.

I hope the animosity subsides, but I know it will be a long road to rebuild the relationship.
