A move in the spread at this late date that big usually means word of an injury to a significant starter or possibly a player thought out is going to play. Any rumors out there?

Wouldn’t read much into it since the line came back down pretty quickly. Looks like a random large bet came in on SJU that pushed the line up to 7 or 7.5 and then sharps bought Creighton at that inflated number bringing in back down a point

Really important game for our guys to prove they are a top team without Smith. Do they have something to prove? Of course! They have to bring it one game at a time. It's a march to an incredible season, not a sprint.

We definitely need to recruit over him for better and bigger overall talent. The idea that you can project this kid's future (or most freshman) based on the small sample we've seen is silly. Kid's played 140 minutes and now we need to recruit over him and he needs to transfer to the A-10? Come on man.
 
You can’t do much about Kalkbrenner. He is what he is. Gotta make life tough for Ashworth all game long. Have Sim & Kadary take turns on him to keep him on his toes. If he hits a couple shots or becomes effective getting the ball to Kalk, Neil, etc then put RJ on him for a few mins to just face guard him and deny him the ball. Frustrate Ashworth and I think they win by 10+. If Ashworth looks comfortable it’s at best a coin flip. Really can’t have Zuby getting in any early foul trouble today also.

I watched Creighton s last game. Announcers more than once mentioned Kalcbrenner didn’t look well, like maybe ill

Whole Creighton team looked exhausted last game, but they’ve had 5 days to rest and prep for this. We will get their best shot today.

Have to frustrate and turn over Ashworth and not fall for his flops on 3 pointers. Play hard and smart from the opening tip, let the Garden rock, and send Creighton home crying about how physical we were.

Key will be to make them play Defense and run Kalkenbrenner up and down the Court .

Make Ashworth work hard bringing the ball upcourt .
