@#19 Connecticut, Fri., Feb. 7, 8p, FOX

Rick’s been losing to Danny since his last game coaching Iona. Trust me when I say this team has this game circled. Rick will have them more than ready. If UConn doesn’t bring their A game, we will beat their ass

Anytime we play Yukon, or Nova, or G’town it’s a must win.

This is a house money game now. But Do we want it??? He’ll yeah!!! If we get the Dev Smith that we had at the end of the game tonight for the entire game Friday we will win. Must put Aaron Scott on Solo Ball. Ball has been in fire. Scott can handle him best I think.
Screw the house money bs.

Lets play every game like we gotta win it.
Every game with urgency.

Maybe become a 1 seed. Why not?

Hurley: “Don’t turn your back on me, Mullin’s Revenge, I’m the best fucking coach in the game!”

MR: “I would never purposely turn my back on you, Danny, you’re the best fucking coach in the game!

Hurley: Sorry man. 3-peat?

MR: 3-peat it is!

St. John's University men's basketball team continues to assert its dominance in the Big East Conference, securing a significant victory over No. 11 Marquette on Tuesday night. The Red Storm, ranked No. 12, triumphed with a 70-64 win at Madison Square Garden, extending their winning streak to nine games and maintaining an unblemished 15-0 home record.

Marquee Victory Over Marquette

In the matchup against Marquette, guard Kadary Richmond delivered an outstanding performance, contributing 18 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. Forward RJ Luis Jr. added 17 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals, while center Zuby Ejiofor recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. The team's dominance on the boards was evident, outrebounding Marquette 50-28, which proved pivotal in securing the win.

The Pitino Effect

Since taking the helm in 2023, head coach Rick Pitino has revitalized the St. John's program. Under his leadership, the team has achieved its highest AP Top 25 ranking since the 1999-2000 season. Pitino's emphasis on disciplined play, defensive intensity, and player development has transformed the Red Storm into a formidable force in college basketball.

Upcoming Showdown with UConn

Looking ahead, St. John's is set to face No. 19 Connecticut on Friday, February 7, 2025. This game presents an opportunity for the Red Storm to further solidify their status as a top contender in the Big East. Given their current momentum, strong home-court advantage, and the strategic acumen of Coach Pitino, St. John's is well-positioned to secure a victory against UConn.

The Red Storm's recent performances underscore their ascent in college basketball, and the upcoming game against UConn will be a critical test of their championship
aspirations.

This is definitely the tougher of the 2 games. @ uconn with extra time for them to prepare. I do think this is a good matchup overall because Defense travels and they can’t stop a nose bleed. I think RJ and Kadary get good looks on the mid range and we need to stay tight on Ball. He KILLED Marquette and is an elite shooter.

UConn had 25 turnovers v Marquette Saturday, but won thx to Solo Ball hitting 8 threes. I believe they can’t come close to defending like us, but have better scorers. This is a tough one on the road, but never count our guys out.
