Providence (MSG), Sat., Feb. 1, 12 NOON, CBSSN

Does anyone know if there are a lot of free/giveaway tickets out for this game, as there was for one of our recent MSG games? I haven't seen a strong indicator that that's the case, and 18K+ against a crappy PC team would be incredible. Last year this game was on a Wednesday but it only drew 11.8K fans despite our solid 12-4 / 4-1 BE record.

The year before (CMA) we played #20 PC on a Saturday, and that game only drew 10.2K! The Johnnies being ranked is extremely important, and it's great to finally see the fan/financial proof of that.
I'm not disagreeing with you ADORAZ, but keep in mind, we beat this crappy team, literally in the last second. I don't think it's crazy to expect a competitive game. I personally don't expect a competitive game. I think a lot of people are just psyched to finally see us as the @$$-whoopers as opposed to the whoopees.

That's fair, by "crappy" I meant more how PC fans may perceive their team this year (they probably wouldn't be an NIT team as of today) and may not show up as much as usual, but I do expect a mostly competitive game.

Even if PC fans do show up in their usual numbers, though, I'd still expect the big majority of fans to be Johnnies (>80-85%). PC fans don't up like Nova or UConn fans, and considering we only had 10K-12K for this game in the past, 7-9K additional Johnnies fans should make this a significant home court advantage.

Last year PC had a decent showing at MSG. They were a morgue in the first half, but came alive in the second after PC came back and Carter made some ridiculous dunk. Then reverted back to their belligerent ways. One guy in the area near me -- with like teenage kids -- stood up defiantly in a section and refused to sit for a LONG period, even when he was blocking SJU fans/kids and being yelled at by others. Security finally went over and told him to stop acting like a moron.

I was at that game. There were a lot of annoying young ones yelling nonsense after the game they lost.

PC needs to be spanked after their coach's comments after the last game. Let's show them some of the other things we do well. I hope we can make the Friars a group of cheerful losers again.

Take a peak at the boxscore. We did not shoot the ball very well, but we had 21 more FG attempts.
Zuby, in 33 minutes, had a great game with 19 points and 10 rebounds; KR had 10 points in only 22 minutes; Luis 16 and 5 in 27 minutes; and Devion 17 and 4 in 33 minutes. TO margin was 17 to 6 in our favor.

Put it to them. No hostages. Give no quarter.

PC and Nova use to be my favorite BE teams , after the Redmen .
I almost went to PC back in the day but , couldn’t handle Room, Board and Tuition .
At SJU , I could live at home and commute . So only paid Tuition . Back then , Tuition was $ 500 a Semester ! I know , compared to today it seems unbelievable but , that was then .

I think it’s still true that a fair amount of Catholic HS kids still go to PC .

Many of the Catholic Schools have their favorite HS to draw students to. One of my granddaughter’s
who went to ND said she could not believe how many guys went to Chaminade and were in her classes .

She and only 1 other classmate had gone to Port Washington HS . Yet , it’s a highly ranked Public School .

Ironically my 114 ticket Saturday is going to my buddy whose name is Mike who aside from looking like Chris Mullin he can drink me under the table. He fits right in anytime he comes to games with us in 114
Enjoy South America Mike! Looks like I beat the gout and will be in Section 114 Row 13 Saturday for Providence with my daughter.
