Connecticut (MSG), Sat., Feb. 3, 12 NOON, FOX

Very weird that a Pitino team peaked in early January and has regressed since. Just not enough consistency from anybody.

Minus a couple bad shooting games, Jenkins is the only one that has been solid all year.

Soriano looks like an All American against the 6'6 Centers from Stony Brook and Holy Cross but melts down against real bigs.

Ledlum plays hard and has some value but is a couple inches too short and not a good enough shooter.

None of Dingle, Alleyne, Luis, Taylor have stepped up and asserted themselves as a guy that deserves to play 30 mins a game.

They never peaked IMO. They were and are the same as they've shown all season... Rollercoaster and up & down.

IMO, they don't do the intangibles (ie, get enough loose balls, make FTs, make the extra pass, hit just "enough" 3 pointers).

Frankly, Walter Clayton, Jr. has turned out to be a huge loss. I think he and Jenkins would be giving teams fits as they really seemed to mesh and have chemistry with one another.

I don’t even think that we will win all four against DePaul and Georgetown. I think we lose to Georgetown on the road. I best we can hope for is 5-4 in the last 9. That’s not enough to get us in the tournament. We would have to win two games in the Big East Tournament and still at that point we’re probably one of the last four in playing in the play in game

We'll sweep both of them. Some of y'all are too reactionary.

Lots of comments about our short comings, but UConn is GOOD.
Creighton is good but Butler down a player went there and won. We really did not compete in second half, have lost five of last six and really lack the balanced offense and D commitment to compete consistently and generate upsets to be considered good. Not whining, just realistic.

I hate the losses but this is the first season it feels like we're moving in a positive direction. Maybe it won't happen this year, but it will happen...
This is the correct assessment. Rick's first-year teams are historically bad due to him usually taking over a program in shambles. STJ's has already shown flashes of what to expect as he continues to rebuild. Sucks to see the struggles now, but the future is bright.

Excellent summary Mug

We have NO 3 point game with any of these players . When you get behind double digits , you need the 3 . We don’t have that capability .

Soriano a giant disappointment t today . With both UCONN guys out Ruth 4 Soriano should be going off .
Because we don’t have a PG. UConn manufactured more three point looks today than we have all season combined.

Rest assured that Pitino will fix this in the portal.

Team is average and Soriano is not a leader.
The play at half court when Ledlum felll on his ass. And Jenkins just left the ball at his feet. Sums up the second half.
Actually the play that did it for me was Dingle’s drive for another left handed lay in that didn’t draw iron, came right to Soriano for an easy dunk, but oops, another fumble, right in and right out of his hands….

Hear nothing about Jenkins ball hogging today because all of our players deficiencies were exposed today! More shots taken by Luis and Dingle than Jenks until last minute. Nobody ever steps up except Jenks and Soriano and certainly not anyone today. So dont you think that Pitinos unconditional support for Jenkins all season was because the HOF coach knew all along what he had and what he didnt have all along? What is more realistic, this board knowing more or less about these players than Pitino? Pitino sees them every single day!
Did anyone check out Dingles shooting percentages in previous years? Not very good!

This isn’t a good team. We need to sweep the bottom teams and win more than we lose against the second tier teams. The plan hasn’t changed all year.

Game was over by then, but it epitomized a lot.

I think they're the best in the country this year, even if they don't win it all this year, cause the NCAA Tournament can eliminate you after one bad game. The hottest team wins that, not necessarily the best team.

We miss more free throws, layups and 3 pointers then our opponents consistently. You can’t win like that

Throw in the turnovers and bad bounces and we’re NIT bound. That’s the reality of the season

We went from up 1 to down 15!!!! Down 15!!!! How does that happen?

Clingan played 15 minutes due to fouls and Sampson fouled out .
Soriano has 6 Points and 4 rebounds and was a disaster at foul line .
With no UCOnn big man to play against , Joel came up very small today . Luis is a puzzle .
And , not a good one .
