I said it was greedy because its an unfair expectation for this team. But I definitely think we're more talented than Providence/Xavier/Butler due to their injuries.
Didn't have Luis in the first game vs X... so hopefully his presence makes up for the potential loss of Dingle/Alleyne.It would be nice in view of Dingle being sub par or out for Luis to have one of those solid total game performances we have waited for v flashes....
Shamorie Ponds walking through that door .For all the back and forth with what games we need, what are wins, what are losses, etc., etc. Me, regardless of who is available, I will be focusing on the first 5 or so Xavier possessions; is the team that D’d up against Nova the “new” Johnnie's or was that an aberration due to the desperation as a result of the 3 game losing streak. This team has not yet shown the consistency on defense for me to feel ANY game is a sure thing; IMO it is more than time for them to do so.
Greed is good.I think the road to safe place in the dance is:
— Beat Seton Hall at home
— Sweep Georgetown
— Sweep DePaul
— Sweep one of Xavier, Butler, Providence
— Beat one of Marquette, Creighton, UCONN
It’s all very possible. Frankly, I think we should sweep two of the Xavier/Butler/Providence but that’s greedy

I knew 3 guys now in their 70's who suffered through those awful years and the Yankee League days and Perno, (but they loved Corky Calhoun good player no relation to Jim) so when they finally got good and won in Tampa that first naty, I was invited, all expenses paid, dinners and golf included (business thing for one of them) I DIDN'T GO!, As a JOHNNY Fan I just couldn't. I heard each of them had tears in their eyes.Their fans are unbearable and I give them credit they’ve gone on amazing runs. 5 titles in 6 appearances and loved the Sparty fans keeping them up the night before of 08 Semi in Detroit. I live CT some of biggest front runners. Bars In Stamford 20 yrs ago never cared about the Huskies or Pats.
Trust me. If we didn't have Pitino, I would not have made half of these optimistic posts.Absolutely agree. Just hard to win on the road in this league against teams that you're better than, unless you're MUCH better than they are. I'm not as sold on the "MUCH" part is all.
Those games have downside only for NET, that's why they won't help us get "better"lf we have not played the bottom two yet and ricks teams get better in the second half of the season especially this year, why shouldn't we get better?
I will go out on a limb and say it's not asking too much. Our KenPom is very solid and more importantly evenly matched on O and D. If it a) stays like that even where we are right now we should easily win an 8/9 game and b) if both get into the 20s sweet sixteen is possible for sure unless we get PurdueWe should sweep Xavier & Butler imo if we are as good as many think are. I don’t want to squeak into Dance, but be seeded 8 or so to steal a game one and roll dice on an upset after that. Also, would like to see some momentum down the stretch resulting in semi finals of BE Tourney.
Too much to ask?![]()
