Ill take decent!

Take this how any of you wish.

% decrease for our guys FT rate last year after transferring to SJU.

Dingle - 49.8% decrease
Taylor - 48.2% decrease
Jenkins - 36.2% decrease
ledlum - 27.3% decrease
Luis - 17.8% decrease

Meanwhile, with an increase in competition and a lesser role (2 things that should work against it), Conways went up 23.2%
Yeah but Conway's went up from .155% to .191%, not exactly a big jump. Taylor's more than doubled that. lol

Fair points for sure, though I'd argue that Conway's limited minutes and only 9 FTA on the season is far too low of a sample size to make any conclusions on that especially with his garbage time role.

Looking through Pitino's history, FT Rate is maybe the most inconsistent metric for his teams over the years. In just the last 3 years alone he's had one top 30 season and one sub 300 season (last season's 324th ranking tied for his worst with his 2011 Louisville team). I may end up being wrong and you may end up being right, but if Watkins is added I can't imagine another season where we struggle getting to the line.

Fwiw I would think with Watkins and Richmond we would be a team who gets to the line often. Just pointing out its not as simple as just transferring over those numbers to the next year.

From what I'm told Watkins is going to go up to the wire in deciding whether to stay in draft.

But yeah SJU is the main alternative outside the draft.
I forget at this point. Players are still required to withdraw from the draft to play again in college?

STAY ON TOPIC

Sadly, we know what happens next....

Especially because they will still be playing with one ball; translating numbers from one team to another is risky business. Taylor and Dingle are prime examples of that.

Re: Poplar

"I witnessed Poplar quit on this team during the UNC road trip. Coach L and him had over a 30 minute talk about his attitude and not playing when he was ready to go. He decided to stay in his pajamas all day long. We had an NIL budget for the final four of less than 950K, this year that budget double and tripled. Do not make excuses for him. The staff, the training staff all wanted him gone, and this is a fact"

Trilly also saying he wants to avoid going back to school

I love the way he thanked everyone for his development, and not only for just basketball. He thanked the people who have helped him academically. He seems like a great kid.

This may confuse some posters. That was Watkins' initial announcement from April. He currently remains in the draft, but players have until May 29th to withdraw.
